Hello!
My name is Grace, and I am the creator and founder of Ashwōl Co! I am so glad that you are here! I would like to introduce myself and a little bit about why I started this company! To start off, I am a momma of a little girl and in remission from a rare brain disease. About 2 months ago, I was admitted into the hospital for 2 weeks and underwent supervision of my diagnosis of IIH. Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension, also known as pseudo tumor cerebri is a rare brain disease that affects about 1 in 100,000 people and causes fluid and pressure build up in the brain. The symptoms is a long list of... 'everything hurts'. Especially my head. When I was admitted into the hospital, I had lost complete vision in both of my eyes due to severe papilledema (nerve swelling in the eyes). I underwent treatment that included a lumbar puncture and extraction of brain fluid that helped me regain my vision. During my stay, I was advised by my job to seek disability and that I would no longer be employed. And that is how I started my idea board off with creating my own brand. I am very work ethic driven and of course I definitely do not give up when someone says I can't do something. So, to the drawing board I went. I started with several different ideas of what I was going to do and make but none of them really struck my heart the way I prayed for them to be. Until recently, I accepted the defeat of my infertility, to an extent, and felt the need of some healing. I regularly would scroll through Pinterest and see baby onesies and outfits and my heart felt at peace. So, what better way to continue the peace than make my own onesies. All in hopes that I could order one for my own baby someday. As I said before, I am a momma and yes, second infertility is a real thing and if you are reading this and your heart longs for more babies, but your body just can't, I see you. After the last 3 years of trying for a baby with my husband, and 2 miscarriages, my diagnosis of IIH clarified so much of our heartbreak. I will say it again though; it takes a lot for me to accept defeat. As I continue to create and list more products, I hope you can know that each and every product brought me peace in creating. I also have integrated faith-based items that resonate my love for Jesus Christ and the strength He has given me and my family during each and every hard time we have faced. If you are here just for some cute clothes, coffee or health supplements, I welcome you with open arms. And if you are here because you read a snippet of this original blog and related in some way, feel free to reach out to me at any time with questions or even to leave your name so I can pray for you. May the Lord be with you and in your heart always,
Grace
